Overview

The in formal inauguration has been conducted for the Field Level Leadership Development Initiative(FiLDI) workshop by the master trainers of the DAWASCO &DAWASA along with the CEC Expert support Team.

The World Bank WSP Specialist Mr.Ajith Kumar Co-chaired the Inaugural session along with the Er.Cyprian Luhemhaja, CEO of the DAWASCO on 10.10.2016.During the Inauguration CEC president Er.K.Nagarajan emphasized the need for change initiative for improving the service delivery through the development of Field Level leadership Development Initiative. The World Bank Specialist Mr.Ajith Kumar stressed the need of Mission Mode approach to tackle the WATSAN related issues at Tanzania with relevance to change initiative in improving the service delivery. Both the Chair and Co-Chair shared their CEC achievement and the CAN Model and its appropriate relevance to the Tanzanian Context.

The inaugural session was attended by 29 participants along with the master trainers trained at CEC Chennai. The CEC expert team was also involved in the inauguration.

The first practice workshop was conducted by the 'Master Trainers' and facilitated by the CEC Experts team with 29 participants of different categories have attended the workshop.

The final valediction of the first workshop and the formal inauguration of ‘Field Level Leadership Development Initiative Workshop’ in Tanzania was inaugurated by Eng. Mbogo Futakamba, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Water Resources, Union Republic of Tanzania on 13.10.2016.

Along with the Permanent Secretary, the Chairman, Member DAWASA Board, CEO DAWASA have participated. The Permanent Secretary expressed his happiness about this initiative and the feedback got from the participants about this workshop. The first practice workshop concluded with a positive note and infused confidence to the master trainers to take up the remaining workshops.

The goal of CEC is to reach out to a million people with messages on water conservation, protection of environment, and environmental conservation. To achieve this objective CEC focuses it’s awareness creation efforts and initiatives on the youth of the society and banks on their energy, optimism and enthusiasm to achieve a million steps to Water. Such fresh, optimistic and vibrant young change makers have a definite necessity to be nurtured and incubated

Change Agent Network

The second practice workshop commenced on 17th October 2016 and went ahead as per the workshop design with a new set of participants with different hierarchical back ground. The process adopted in FiLDI workshop made them to come closer and involve in all the activities. At the end of the workshop on 20th October 2016 the participants committed themselves to adopt change initiatives at ' Individual level, Organisationallevel and at the Community level'.

The participants have also prepared a ‘Specific Action Plan’ for implementing change initiatives in their work areas during the next 90 days.

There will be a follow-up workshop after 90 days and the action plan will be critically reviewed at that time. In the meantime the Chief Executive Officer, DAWASCO also promised to review the progress on the action plan periodically.

The second practice workshop came to an end on 20th October 2016 and the final valediction was attended by the CEO, DAWASA, Director CHR, DAWASCO. CEO, DAWASO emphasized the participants to implement the new learning’s in their work areas and express his happiness on the feedbacks got from the participants.

Now, the ' Master Trainers' are expected to take up the remaining FiLDI workshops on their own with the inputs given by CEC Experts both at the practice workshop at Chennai and at the practice workshops at Tanzania. Different teams of 'Facilitators and Co -Facilitators' along with the backup teams for conducting the remaining 'FiLDI Workshops' were suggested. Also the guidelines and suggestions to conduct the remaining workshops are also enclosed herewith for effective and successful conduct of the FiLDI Workshops.
